Bright Lights News…

Standard

Greetings, everyone! 🙂

First off, I’m sorry for the lack of posts–I’ve been mostly away from the computer for the past… nearly two weeks now.

I decided to write this post in a question and answer format, just for the fun of it. 😉

So… how did the Christmas party go??

At first we just visited and finished food preparations… then we went outside to the campfire, where we sang Christmas songs/carols and enjoyed each other’s company. We came inside next and talked about how we need to focus on giving rather than getting– not just during Christmas, but the whole year. Then we did the Cookie exchange and had some snacks. After that we played “Big Dutch Blitz”, which is probably the most active card game ever. We all really enjoyed that. 😀 That is pretty much it! I’m sorry for the lack of pictures… I was too busy enjoying the party to take any. 😦

When is the Next Meeting?

As you may already know, we are postponing this first meeting in January, due to the fact that I (Carissa) have a cold– thus making it hard for me to talk… and think. 😛  Plus I don’t want to get anyone else sick. 🙂

So… when is our next meeting? Monday, January 17th is the official date.

Monday??

Yes, Monday… we’ve decided to switch the day back to Monday. Several of our girls either couldn’t come on Tuesdays or had more difficulty in coming, so we just decided to move it back to Mondays. (Our Mondays are less busy now, so that helps.)

Okay, so when is the next meeting then?

The next meeting will be Monday, January 24th. Yes, two meetings in a row… we wanted to still get in our two meetings in January. 🙂

Is this the meeting for just the older girls?

Normally it would be, since this is the first meeting of the month. However, since it’s been so long since we’ve been together, we decided that both this meeting and the next one will be for the whole group.

Weren’t you going to have a mom’s meeting or something like that?

Yes! We would like to invite all the moms to the second meeting in January (Monday the 24th).  We will probably have part of the meeting with everyone and part of it with the moms and girls separate. We’re still working on plans, though… If this day/time won’t work out for you, please let us know and we’ll see what we can do. 🙂

What about next month?

In February we will resume our normal second and fourth pattern, with the only difference being the fact that the meetings will now be on Mondays.

What time does it start again?

We will still be starting at 6:00 and ending at 8:30.

Is it still at Grace Bible Church?

Yes, the meetings are still at the same location. If you need the address again, here it is: 403 Rockcroft Avenue, Port Charlotte Florida 33954

Do we need to bring anything?

Mainly a Bible and… a willingness to learn! A pencil or pen may also come in handy, but isn’t necessary since we do have some available.

What about clothes?

We prefer that you “dress up” a little… not really fancy, but just a little nicer than usual. Makes it more fun… plus we find that girls tend to act just a little more like ladies if they’re dressed like ladies. 😉 Skirts are good, but we really don’t mind either way– provided, of course, that whatever you wear is modest. 🙂

Do you need anyone to bring snacks?

If you would like to bring snacks for either meeting, that would be great! Just let us know… 🙂

Whew! That was a lot! Hope you caught all that… 🙂 Here’s a brief recap of the most important things:

  • The next meeting is: Monday, January 17th
  • Meetings are now on MONDAYS
  • All the moms (as well as your daughters) are invited to the second meeting in January: Monday the 24th

See you all soon!!
