Sewing Days!

Standard

Our first sewing day turned out to be mainly knitting and crocheting, because our serger wasn’t working properly. However, we did get some things cut out, and we had a great time.

Emily and Heidi working on cutting out Heidi’s skirt.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Nicole, who is interested in joining us for Bright Lights this year! 🙂 (I don’t know why this picture is so close up… :P)

Hannah R. watching Cierra sew on her family’s machine–we were all very impressed with the things it could do. 😀

Cheryl, Cierra, and Carissa cutting out Cierra’s skirt (haha, all our names start with C!)

We didn’t have many pictures for the first day, unfortunately, so that’s all… here are the pictures from the next one. This time we got tons done–a lady from church kindly allowed us to use her serger!! 😀

Juliette, Hannah M., Mrs. Ursu, Hannah R., Ellen, Elisa, Rachel and… two other people. haha.

The knitting/crocheting circle.

Elisa, Carissa, Hannah R. and Rachel. Hannah really took off with sewing… she finished one skirt and made two others on this sewing day! Rachel also made two skirts. 😀

Emily and ESTHER!! 😀

Heidi sewing… she is doing awesome with sewing! She is actually a big part of the inspiration for doing the sewing days. 🙂

Background: Elisa and Cheryl cutting out a skirt. Middle ground: Ellen, Mama, and Hannah doing… something. Foreground: Carissa and Hannah R. cutting out yet another skirt. I think I can cut out that skirt with my eyes closed now…

Patricia, Carissa, and Hannah R. I got to serge 5-6 skirts. 😀 Serging is awesome fun, by the way. At least when the machine works…

Heidi, Hannah, Patricia, Elisa and half of Cheryl. Hannah is our sewing machine mechanic. 😀

Shirts! Michael’s had a sale on shirts, so we bought them sooner than we intended to.  (By the way, moms (and girls) we would appreciate it if you could bring the money for your shirts at the next sewing day or Bright Lights meeting. Thank you! :))

More serging… this time with Elisa watching.

Rebeka! I told her I needed to get a picture of her so we had proof she came. 😀

Hannah seam ripping, and William… sitting next to her.

Background: Emily and Nicole cutting out a skirt. Foreground: Hannah and Heidi sewing.

Mrs. Stubbs, Callihan and Sydney. More seam ripping! Where there is sewing, there is seam ripping. 😉

Nicole and Emily… this ended up being a double sided skirt, which was really neat. 😀

And there you have it! Hopefully you enjoyed seeing the pictures and learning a bit about what we are doing! 🙂

We are planning the next sewing day… keep your eyes open for the date! 🙂
