And… now for our last Bright Lights meeting. 🙂 This one was about Lies Vs. Truth, and unfortunately I didn’t have the camera out much at all. However, we did have a great meeting. 🙂

Here are the tables all set up for dessert… you moms always do such an awesome job! Thank you! 🙂

And a group of young ladies talking afterwards… mostly centered around Esther. 😉

So, a brief recap of the message of this meeting–we talked about how the only power the Satan has against us as Christians is the power of lies. We read John 8:44: “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

We talked a little about that, and then we had five eager volunteers help us out with a visual of what it looks like when someone is believing lots of lies–they are all tied up and are incapable of serving God or loving people. We then cut off the string, illustrating how the truth in the Word of God has the power to unbind those bound up in lies.  We talked about the importance of loving the truth– The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 1that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

We split up into two groups with Hannah leading one and myself leading the other. We first talked about some of the common sources of lies in our culture–media, friends, and so on. We also talked about many of the common lies that we and our peers are prone to believe, and wrote down at least three of them that we realized we were believing. Then, in pairs of two, we went to the word of God for some truths to combat those lies. We prayed, and then it was time for tea.

I strongly encourage you moms–and you daughters–to continue earnestly in prayer. This is such a serious battle that we face, and we so desperately need God’s help. Even after presenting this message, I have found myself under spiritual attack. Please, please pray. Also, be aware of the lies that the enemy is tricking you in to believing, and keep looking to God’s Truth to defeat them.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 11th at 6:00 until 9:00 at Grace Bible Church. It will probably be about Media and other possibly polluting influences… however, if that doesn’t work out, we will probably be talking about Accepting God’s Design for You. It pretty much depends on how God leads. If you have any thoughts about it, feel free to let us know. 🙂

See you all soon!! God bless and be with you. 🙂
